I am having difficulty getting a loan to buy a home. I was approved for disability benefits on Feb. 12,2009 from Oct. 15,2005 -- Dec. 31,2011 with a recommended continuing disability review in 24 months. The Senior Mortgage Consultant I'm working with insists I cannot get approved for a loan unless I have proof of a three year continuance. They say if I cannot prove I'll continue to get the disability for three years this income will not be valid and without this income I will not qualify for any type of loan. Basically I'm stuck. Do you know of any loan agencies who might be more flexible. Do I qualify for a government loan? Thank You, Becky

Dear Becky: I have never heard of an award giving an end date. Maybe its because you have a disability that will improve with age. Anyway, I would try calling other banks and find out it you can get a verification from SS without an end date. A benefit letter is fairly easy to obtain from the toll free number.....Good Luck......Carol
