St Patricks Events 2024Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Style: Manchester’s Spectacular Parade

SUNDAY MARCH 24, 2024

New Hampshire is abuzz with thrilling events to commemorate the Irish patron saint, but Manchester steals the spotlight with its unrivaled St. Patrick’s Day parade. This vibrant community celebration draws in legions of enthusiasts to Elm Street Downtown, making it a must-attend affair. Let’s delve into the festivities!

Route: The Manchester St. Pats Parade kicks off at the northern end of Elm Street, with lively marching units assembling between Webster Street and Salmon Street. Festivities commence at noon, with shuttle services available as early as 10 am. The parade concludes at Elm and Central Street. However, please note that timings and routes are subject to change. Stay updated with the latest news and announcements on the official website (see External Resources below).

Manchester NH’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade is scheduled for late March, extending the celebratory spirit beyond the actual holiday by over a week. Organizers cite stiff competition, as St. Patrick’s Day festivities span across the nation. Moreover, St. Paddy’s has evolved into a festive period rather than a solitary day, warranting an extended celebration.

After the street revelry subsides, continue the festivities at numerous local pubs and bars, offering an array of flavors and ample servings of Guinness. Conveniently located along Elm Street, some of the city’s finest watering holes include Murphy’s Taproom and The Pint Public House. Additionally, venture to Firefly American Bistro & Bar on Concord Street for a delightful experience. So, don your best green attire, let loose, and revel in the joyous ambiance.

Why is the Parade not on St. Patrick’s Day? Many ponder why the parade isn’t held on the actual day of St. Patrick’s Day. The explanation is straightforward. Competing with renowned cities like Boston and New York for top-tier bands, marching units, and floats on the exact day proves challenging. Moreover, St. Patrick’s Day transcends a single day, evolving into a prolonged celebratory period. Hence, extending the festivities seems only fitting!
