It is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, St. Mark's United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church of Montclair and The United Methodist Homes of New Jersey.

The four story affordable senior community with 47 apartments has become an attractive addition to the Pine Street Historic District. It is situated close to the NJ Transit rail station, Montclair center, local churches, Mountainside Hospital, healthcare services, retail shops, parks, the Montclair Museum, public and private schools including Montclair State University, and more, giving residents access to many services. Residents may relax or participate in the many activities held at PineRidge.
