Race Overview:
The Squam Ridge Race is back for its 12th year, offering two exciting race options that showcase the natural beauty of Squam Lake and the surrounding watershed. This event is perfect for both competitive racers and those looking to enjoy a scenic hike.
Race Options:
- 12.2 Mile Course:
- Route: Traverses the majority of the Squam Range, crossing three summits.
- Terrain: Mix of single track, pavement, dirt road, and double track.
- Elevation Gain: Approximately 3000 feet.
- Highlights: Stunning views, challenging stone steps up Mount Percival.
- Aid Stations: Three stations spaced 2-4 miles apart.
- 4 Mile Course:
- Route: Climbs Mount Livermore and returns to the start/finish area.
- Aid Station: One station at the Crawford Ridgepole Trail junction.
Event Details:
- Parking: Directed fields off Burleigh Farm Road.
- Divisions: Racer and hiker divisions for both courses.
- Aid Stations: Strategically placed to support participants.
- Finish Line: Food and beverages provided by local restaurants and businesses.
- Awards: Medals for top finishers in each division, prizes for overall top finishers.
Supporting a Cause:
All proceeds from the Squam Ridge Race go towards maintaining the 55+ mile network of hiking trails, ensuring they remain accessible and enjoyable for all. This event is a fantastic way to contribute to the preservation of these trails while enjoying a day of outdoor adventure.

In-Kind Sponsor Opportunities In-kind contributions are greatly appreciated and help ensure that more money can go directly to support SLA’s trail management programs. These sponsors will receive the same benefits as our cash sponsors according to the levels outlined in the Sponsorship Benefits listings. In-kind sponsors of $25 – $174 will be recognized on the SLA event website and are supporting the trail network.

The Squam Lakes Association is dedicated to conserving the natural beauty, peaceful character, and resources of the watershed. In collaboration with local and state partners, the SLA promotes the protection, careful use, and shared enjoyment of the lakes, mountains, forests, open spaces, and wildlife of the Squam Lakes region. Squam Lakes Association (Fed ID 02-0256498) is a non-profit organization issued exemption under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and gifts to the association are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law.

Support Seniors and Stay Active!
Join us on August 10, 2024, for the Granite Ledges of Concord Annual 5K, an event that brings together seniors, their families, and active adults from the local community. The 5K race is the largest event hosted by Granite Ledges and benefits the Aging Well Alliance Fund through Concord Hospital Trust. This fund supports vital senior programs in the hospital and the community, aiming to keep our older adults safe, healthy, and active.

- Seniors…Strong & Savvy Program: This program provides screenings and support to help seniors maintain their strength and independence, reducing the risk of falls and other health issues.
