Founded in 1996, the Friends of Manchester Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of animals in Manchester. The shelter provides essential services including shelter, medical care, and spay/neuter programs to over 25,000 animals. Our mission is to ensure all animals receive the respect, care, and love they deserve, working towards zero population growth through comprehensive spay/neuter programs.

Event Overview
The Mount Washington Observatory’s (MWOBS) Seek the Peak is back for its 24th year, featuring a hike-a-thon and Après Hike Expo. This event is MWOBS’s largest annual fundraiser, inviting hikers of all ability levels to raise vital funds for the Observatory and celebrate adventure in the White Mountains.

  • Date: Saturday, July 20, 2024
  • Location: Appalachian Mountain Club’s Joe Dodge Lodge, Mount Washington, NH
  • Purpose: To raise money to sustain MWOBS’s educational and scientific programs.

How to Participate

  • Hike and Make Friends Program: Match with participants of similar ability levels to complete a hike together.
  • Hike Anywhere: Can’t make it to Mount Washington? Participate from any location and “Seek Your Peak” globally.

Après Hike Expo

4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center
Even if you’re not hiking, join us for the Après Hike Expo. Enjoy live music, an 80’ climbing wall manned by Mount Washington Valley climbing schools, food and beverages, and booths from your favorite outdoor brands.

Highlights of the Expo

  • Catered Meal: Enjoy delicious food from Hart’s Turkey Farm Restaurant.
  • Live Music: Celebrate with great tunes and a lively atmosphere.
  • Climbing Wall: Challenge yourself with a climb.
  • Competitions: Fun contests for school children and business teams.
  • Outdoor Enthusiasts: Over 500 participants hiking and raising funds.

  • Après Hike Party Entry Ticket: $15 per car (Early Bird), $20 per car at the door. Includes access to the expo and all activities.

  • North State Street at Capitol Street (northbound): 4:00 PM – 8:30 PM
  • North State Street at Centre Street (southbound): 4:00 PM – 8:30 PM
  • Green Street, between Centre Street and School Street: 5:45 PM – 8:00 PM (or until the last walker passes)
  • Park Street, between North Main Street and North State Street (westbound): 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
  • Capitol Street, between North Main Street and North State Street (eastbound): 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
  • Warren Street, between Green Street and North State Street: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM (or until the last walker passes)

Important Notice: Please note that traffic will be significantly limited along the entire 5K race route between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

Early Bird Registration:

Are you ready to test your strength and support a worthy cause? Join us at the Budweiser Brewery Experience for an exhilarating day of adrenaline-pumping action and community camaraderie at our Fire Truck Pull event!

Event Details:

Team Challenge:

Gather your friends, family, or colleagues and form a team of up to 12 members. With two attempts to pull a 40-60K pound fire engine 50 feet, it’s your chance to showcase your strength and teamwork. The top three teams will be awarded prestigious trophies. Act fast to take advantage of our Earlybird registration discount of $250 per team, available until March 15. Afterward, pricing increases to $400 until April 1, and then to the normal registration price of $600 per team. Register early to secure the best entry price!

Individual Challenge:

Prefer to go solo? Individuals can also participate in our thrilling event by pulling a 1938 antique firetruck weighing nearly 11K pounds! Secure your spot with an upfront registration fee of $40, or register onsite for $50. The top three individual pullers will receive impressive trophies.

Cash Prizes and Awards:

In addition to participant prizes for the fastest pulls, we’re offering additional BIG cash prizes for the team that fundraises the most and the most spirited crew!

Vendor Opportunities:

Calling all vendors! Showcase your products or services to an audience of approximately 500 people. Register now for a vendor spot for just $50.
