Fall 2008
Already the leaves are changing and the days and nights are cooling off!
We have kicked off the start of autumn with a trip out to buy pumpkins,
hay bales and mums! Apple picking is also on our agenda as well as
some pie baking with all the apples we pick.
Golden Pond Residents and their families celebrated the end of summer
with our annual Family BBQ with lots of great food, friends and family
as well as celebrating Golden Pond’s 16th year of operation! In fact,
we celebrated two very special birthdays recently; Golden Pond and
Golden Goose Academy both have been open for sixteen years!
We are very proud of our longevity and our successes in both areas.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome back our Resident
Care Director, Marilyn McLean, RN to our family. Marilyn had taken
a year to pursue other interests and was able to join us again when
we had some staffing changes. We are very excited to have her
back with us and caring for our residents again! Marilyn had been
instrumental in starting our Healthy Living at Golden Pond program
as well as our Diabetes Management Program so both of those
programs will be continually expanding and improving under
her leadership.
