I was hoping someone could help my children and i receive ssd and i am do to marry into the military can anyone tell me if it will effect my income and what i need to do? i am so confused.. Help

Dear Jen: If you are receiving SSDI, then you and your children will receive the same amount you always have. Notify SS when you get married so that they can change your name and the name on the childrens' checks. You will need to show them a certified marriage certificate. They won't keep it, just need to see it. If SSI is involved, you must contact the SSI person at your local office and report the marriage to them. Good Luck......Carol
