My husband passed away Dec 26, 2008 and I dont know
what to do in regards to my legal rights as a wife, whats due to me
and what I can claimed.

So sorry for your loss. It is hard for me to answer your question, because I don't know how old you are. But most people who have worked, have a benefit due their spouse called the Lump Sum Death Benefit. It is $255. If you are over age 60 and not earning over the SSA limit. you might be eligible for Widows benefits. You should call either your local office or the toll free number...1-800-772-1213. Carol
