I am 60 as my wife. I am drawing SS disability.My wife plans to apply for SS benefits, possibily at 62. If I become deceased, how will the payments to her be computed. Thanks so very much Carol

Dear William: It is a very complicated computation. We use your benefit rate and reduce down to whatever age your wife is. If she waits untl age 66, she will be eligible for the whole thing. She would also be able to take her own at age 62 and leave yours alone until she is age 66. There are options for a widow that wifes dont have......Carol
