HOW DO I APPLY FOR MEDICARE B..I ALREADY HAVE MEDICARE A
Support Replied ~ 01-07-2009 19:12:00
Dear Donald You can enroll in Medicare B every year between Jan 1st and March 31st. This is called the general enrollment for people that didn't apply for Part B when they were first eligible and were not on a group insurance. If you were on a group insurance, you have 7 months to sign up for Part B at no surcharge. This is called a special enrollment period. When you call SS for an enrollment form, make sure they know you are in a special enrollment period or you might be wrongly charged more. You can call the toll free number 1-800-772-1213 or your local office. Hopefully you have the extension of the person that handled your claim. It will be faster. Carol
