I've had Identity theft problems. Is it possible to change my social security number?
Answer
It almost takes an act of congress to get a new SS number. Call SS and make sure all your records are correct and they have your dob,pob, father and mothers name correct. Also check your earnings record. If all our records are correct, then it is the credit bureau and other databases that are incorrect.
On SSA.GOV there is a fact sheet that tells about identity theft. It
is quite recent. If you cannot find it, get back to me.
