if i take benefits at 62 and my spouse does also. I will do consulting work. If i do this as corporation or LLC and pay spouse a salary do each/both of us enjoy 14100 income allowance

Dear Mike: Boy, both partners in a corporation....What a complication. If both of you, for instance, worked a Sears, you would each be able to earn $14160.00. You would have to be careful about doing you taxes correctly because SS uses them to figure out your wages. Did you wife work for the company before? SS will suspect that you are working and letting her take the wages. Go to SSA.GOV and download a corporate officer questionnaire. See what questions they will ask you. Be prepared. SS can deny you benefits if they think you are regulating your wages......Carol
