Can I receive my widow's benefits while I am still working? I am 61 years and 6 months. Can you tell what the rules are? My company has cut back and I now work 3 day's a week instead of 5 day's.

Dear Sue: This year you are allowed to earn $14160 a year and get all your benefits. This amount goes up every year. SS will hold $1 for every $2 you plan to earn over that. If you give me the amount you plan to earn and your approximate benefit amount, I can tell you how many checks you would get. Remember to check your own amount also, as you can switch over to your own earnings once that amount goes over the widows amount you are receiving......Carol
