I am 55yrs old and receive SS disability of $1220 per month. I work part time $700.00 month. I may be losing my job at the end of July. I receive Medicare but have to pay $350 month for the supplement and $96.00 month for the Part B. I want to know if I will be eligible for any extra help if I loose my job. I am trying to prepare myself for what is to come. I did go to the SS Office, but was told as long as I have a job they could not give me any info. I needed to wait until I don't have a job, then file for help. Thank you so much

Dear Lane: I don't know what supplement you have for $350 a month, but it must be private. There is a program that welfare has that pays your Part B premium for you which is called SLMBY. That might help you with the Part B. As far as extra help from SS, I have no idea what that help is since you are over the SSI amount of $674 unless you have some state suppliment that I am not aware of. Hope I was of some assistance. Carol
