My aunt is planning on moving to New York city what is the process to change over her SSI benefits from Philadelphia to New York? Is there a waiting period or will she contimue to recieve her benefits while she is waiting for the change over? Hope u can thanks.

Dear Jay:
She should call her local office and report that she is moving and they will probably tell her to call the new office as soon as she arrives in NYC. SS will continue too send her checks but she much do an update with her SSI within a few months or they might suspend her checks. Carol
