My wife is retired and on Social Securty and I am still working. We are both 64. Can I draw spousal amount of 1/2 on her retirement while I am still working. If so is there a set amount that I can make and still get half off her. Thx Gene

Dear Gene: You can receive around 1/2 of hers if your amount is very low. The amount you can work and receive your SS is $14160.00. If you earn over that amt, SS takes $1 for every $2 you earn over that. When you file for benefits, you must always take your own first and then add any other benefits you may be eligible for. I think the answer to your question is NO.
