I manage a section 8 apartment complex. We have to recertify resident each year to verify income. We do this at move in as well. I always obtain an award letter no older then 6 months old. We do this through the 1-800 number. Kentucky Housing recently audited my files. When they saw the letters that showed the effective date of Dec 08 they wrote me up and said that Social Security had an increase in Jan, 2009 and I should have counted that. I have received verbal from my local office to verify. However, I need something in writing to verify I was correct. Please Help!

Dear Dawn; Don't they know that the increase in the December check comes in January. When it says the December benefit it is showing the increase. SSI increase would be in January. They are different.......Carol
