Community Description
Senior Citizens Services, a non-profit, United Way agency, has been Mobile's premier resource center for seniors for over 37 years, providing a wide range of programs and services to meet the ever changing population of seniors - from active baby boomers to elder seniors with special needs. The Mary Abbie Berg Center, the activity center, offers fitness, dance and exercise classes, computer classes, art and recreation. LifeNet offers health screenings, wellness fairs, a home care program, emergency assistance, and a food pantry. GrandFriends is an economical full day program for older adults who have special needs that require supervision providing caregivers with peace of mind and support while they work outside the home. Via! Solutions, located in Colonial Mall Bel Air, offers a variety of health education and wellness seminars featuring local experts. Via! also has a monthly wellness fair, a walking program, and a computer cafe'. Our programs and services are staffed with highly trained professionals, greeting members with a friendly smile! Our $3.5 expansion, which will be open at the end of August will feature a large gymnasium, state-of-the art fitness facility, multipurpose room, and much more! Membership fees are incredibly low.
