Community Description

Highland Lakes is a vibrant 55 and older resident owned community located in Central Florida just south of Leesburg. Being located near the Florida Turnpike makes for an easy trip to and from the Orlando airport and attractions like Walt Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios; yet we are far enough away from Orlando to escape the hustle and bustle of a growing metropolitan area. Homes are supplied with water, sewer, and natural gas from the City of Leesburg.

Highland Lakes is in a very beautiful setting with natural wetland areas and several small lakes with catch and release fishing as well as model sail boat racing. Our Nature Trail provides a serene place to walk, meditate, and observe the local wildlife. Sand Hill Cranes, Bald Eagles, Osprey and Foxes make Highland Lakes their home.

Our community of 938 homes lies behind an attractive gated entrance and maintains a large clubhouse, which contains an indoor tennis court, stage, exercise room, library, kitchen, billiard room, craft room, and meeting rooms. The community is also very proud of the many amenities available to the homeowners such as: six tennis courts, eight shuffleboard courts, four bocce ball courts, six horseshoe courts, golf driving range, free RV and boat storage, indoor (heated) and outdoor pools, a well-equipped woodcraft building and a softball field.
