Senior Center Membership for 2012
2012 dues are currently being accepted! Being a Bremerton Senior Center member enables you to receive our newsletters direct mailed, participation in over 30 activities at no additional charge and trip registration priority. We are an active recreation center for all adults 55 and better, regardless of your activity level. We have daily drop-in activities you can participate in, as well as, trips and tours, fitness, educational, enrichment groups, such as: Sunshine Singers, Spectapulars, Center Line Dancers and more. Membership dues for a single city residents are $8 (this means you can vote for the Mayor) and non-residents $16.

For 2012, the following membership programs are available:

Couples Membership is for two people, at least one needs to be 55 or better, who reside at the same address. They will be able to purchase two resident memberships for $14.50 or two non-resident memberships for $29.
Community Members Memberships are for Senior Living facilities who are interested in purchasing a group of tickets (10, 20 or more) so their residents can check out the membership cards from them. That way more residents can participate in our programs. These rates are the normal resident ($8) and non-resident ($16) rates. The residency is based on where the Senior Living facility is located.
Associate Memberships are for those individuals not yet 55 but who still would like to participate in the programs, trips and classes offered at the Center. This is a great membership for sons or daughters of members or active adults who participate at the Bremerton Senior Center. The fee is $13.25 for residents and $26.50 for non-residents.

The Bremerton Senior Center is owned and operated by the City of Bremerton Parks and Recreation Department. It is located in East Bremerton at the corner of 13th Street and Nipsic Avenue in the Manette area. The center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 3:00PM, and provides recreational programs for the local population age 55 and better.

Programs include (but are not limited to!): fitness and dance classes, arts and crafts, pool, cards, board games, trips/travel, treks, sports, specialty classes, socials, and much more. Over 40 different opportunities are offered monthly. "The Active Us" newsletter is produced five times a year, is free to patrons, and lists the many activities, programs, classes and upcoming events. The building boasts a pool room with four regulation size tables, a large multipurpose room able to host 150+ people, a hardwood dance room, computer lab, meeting room, kitchen, and office.

Stop by, say hello, pickup a newsletter and/or brochure about the senior center, and find out all that is going on! We believe that you will be pleasantly surprised.

The facility is available for rent during non-operational hours for weddings, receptions, parties, and anniversaries.

Center History and Surroundings
The original building was moved from a Westside location in the late 1960's. It was first used as a school, before the parks department acquired it. In September 1972, the doors were opened for business! At that time the square footage was approximately 2,000, but with additions over the years, has grown to over 5,000 sq. feet! This was made possible due to generous contributions from Bremerton Rotary, $UM$ ($eniors Uncover Money $olutions), volunteers, CDBG grants, and City funds.

The Center is adjacent to Manette Playfield which has a Big Toy, two tennis courts, a youth size ballfield, and hosts one of the four free Playground Summer programs
